20th February 2005

Cricklade 2 - Nine Elms 3

Despite being 2-0 down at half time, Nine Elms failed to throw in the towel and made a supreme effort in the second half to snatch the win. It could have easily been more for the Elms who had several shots hit the woodwork to deny them further goals. A great win making it four in a row. Keep this up and promotion will be a cert.

13th December 2004

Sadly I have had to remove some of the content from the Nine Elms United web pages. The match reports, statistics and previous seasons fixtures are no longer available.

This situation has arisen because my son has started playing for Shaw F.C. under 8's and I can no longer make it to the Nine Elms games.

12th September 2004

419ers 1 - Nine Elms 6

Nine Elms struggled for the first half of this match and were a goal down at half time. Fortunately they managed to get back into the game in the latter part of the second half and the scoreline finished at 6 - 1 - a good result at the end of the day but we know they can play better than this!

5th September 2004

Nine Elms 2 - Chesters 3

A shocking start to the season from a disappointing Nine Elms side. Chesters, despite looking flabby themselves, broke through the Elms defence repeatedly and were 3 - 0 up for a time.

A poor start to the Elms season as they destroy all hope of winning all their league games. Well done to Chesters - a good start for you, especially being the first to beat the Nine Elms in a league game.

But wait....

There is a rumour that Chesters played an unregistered player - this is being checked out at present. If this is the case Nine Elms will get the points. Watch this space!

29th August 2004

Nine Elms 6 - The Bear, Marlborough 0

This last pre-season friendly kicked off at 1 p.m. today and resulted in a fine win for what looks like an unstoppable Elms side.

A last minute pitch change to Marlborough Rec. caused a bit of a stir due to the lack of facilities and long grass - to quote Turns, the Elms keeper, "I've just found a Bengal tiger and an anaconda!". Nonetheless, the game got underway on time with The Bear in green hoops and The Elms in blue so it looked more like a Celtic Rangers clash!

At 15 mins Steele put The Elms into the lead from a corner kick and Townsend scored a second for The Elms making the half time score 2-0. A flurry of player changes occurred at half time and The Elms restarted the game. Play went pretty much the Elms way all through the second half.

Webb hit a 30 yard strike which was made to look better than it was by the keeper who spectacularly punched it out when I felt it could have been caught!

Steele scored again for The Elms to make it 3-0 then Eustice made a quick turn from a corner ball and fired it into the net to make it 4. Two minutes later Eustice made a long pass from just before the half way line hoping to find Jackson. The keeper shouted for the ball and Jackson also went for it - both missed and it rolled into the back of the net, 5-0.

Negus rounded off the scoring with a neat goal to give the final result of 6 - 0.

Goals for The Elms were scored by: Steele (2), Eustice (2), Townsend and Negus. So, Paul 'over the crossbar' Webb is yet to get on the scoreboard!

A good game lads - well played to all of you. Looks like this season is going to be awesome.
